Pre-Season Outlook
Watson is coming off a career year. Last year, the veteran caught 27 of 53 targets for 460 yards and three touchdowns. Since the Chiefs had one of the weaker wide receiver groups in the first 10 weeks of the 2023 season, Watson was able to secure significant playing time. During the first three games of the season, the wideout was productive. After that, Watson was very inconsistent. During the offseason, Kansas City added Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy to add to Rashee Rice and tight end Travis Kelce. Needless to say, the team no longer has a weakness at receiver. Based on the current depth chart, it would be a surprise if Watson was any higher on the depth chart than the No. 4 receiver. It will likely be considered a successful season if the veteran can reach 300 receiving yards.
