Staying in Chicago
The Bears signed Allen to a reserve/future contract Monday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Allen joined the Bears as an undrafted free agent back in May of 2022, where he eventually spent all but one game of this past campaign on the team's practice squad. The 25-year-old is now slated to remain with Chicago throughout the offseason and compete for a spot on the Bears' active roster next year.

Bumped down after loss
Allen reverted back to the Bears' practice squad Monday.
Analysis: Allen didn't do much in his NFL debut as the undrafted rookie played nine snaps total, seven of which came on special teams. It's possible Allen could return to the active roster depending on the status of Trevon Wesco (calf).

Elevated from practice squad
Chicago elevated Allen to its active roster from the practice squad Friday ahead of Saturday's matchup against Buffalo, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.
Analysis: With Trevon Wesco (calf) out, Allen has been elevated from the practice squad and will be eligible to make his NFL debut in Week 16. The undrafted rookie out of Iowa State caught 62 of 94 targets for 687 yards and six touchdowns during his final three collegiate campaigns.

Allen was signed to Chicago's practice squad Wednesday, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.
Analysis: The undrafted free agent out of Iowa State went unclaimed on waivers after being waived Tuesday, so the Bears brought Allen back into the fold, albeit in a lesser role. He'll likely spend the 2022 season honing his skills in practice before attempting to make the 53-man roster next year.

Analysis: Allen signed with the Bears in May as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State, where he caught 26 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games during his final collegiate season.
