Returns for minicamp
Callaway (thumb) participated in June minicamp, the Saints' official website reports.
Analysis: Callaway had thumb surgery early in the offseason, but there weren't any reports of limitations at spring practices. His bigger concern for this year is a beefed-up WR room that now has Jarvis Landry and first-round pick Chris Olave joining Callaway, Michael Thomas (ankle), Deonte Harty and Tre'Quan Smith. There's still some opportunity for Callaway to earn a top-three spot on the depth chart -- especially if Thomas isn't ready for Week 1 -- but the 24-year-old Callaway could just as easily…read more

Recovering from thumb surgery
Callaway had offseason surgery on his thumb, Nader Mirfiq of Rare Media Live reports.
Analysis: Callaway has plenty of time to recover before training camp, at which point he'll likely be in the mix for the Saints' second or third wideout spot. Michael Thomas is expected to come back as the far-and-away No. 1, with Callaway and Deonte Harris the current favorites to earn key roles behind Thomas among the team's holdovers from 2021. While he fell far short of the summer hype, Callaway did finish last season with a respectable 46-698-6 receiving line on 84 targets, making him the leading…read more

Underwhelming production in 2021
Callaway caught 46 of 84 targets for 698 yards and six touchdowns over 17 games in 2021.
Analysis: With Michael Thomas (ankle) on the shelf all season, Callaway consistently handled heavy snap counts for New Orleans both before and after Tre'Quan Smith made his season debut in Week 7. However, the 6-foot-2 receiver only ran a route on 53 percent of his snaps and he was only targeted on 19.5 percent of his routes - less than each of Deonte Harris, Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram, Ty Montgomery and Adam Trautman. While Callaway still put together a couple of nice games this year, this underwhelming…read more

Nearly hits century mark
Callaway caught six of 10 targets for 97 yards in Sunday's 18-10 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: He very nearly topped 100 yards for the second time in the last three games, but Callaway had to content himself with being Taysom Hill's top option in the passing game. His developing chemistry with the QB -- Callaway has a 16-255-0 line on 24 targets over those three games -- bodes well for his chances of another big performance in Week 18 against the Falcons, as the Saints will be trying to claim a wild-card spot.

Four catches in blowout loss
Callaway caught four of five targets for 46 yards during Monday's 20-3 loss to Miami.
Analysis: Callaway was the Saints' best source of offense in the first half, catching three balls for 42 yards despite the rest of the Ian Book-led offense doing next to nothing. However, he was unable to overcome extra defensive attention that ensued once Tre'Quan Smith (chest) was knocked out of the game. While Callaway would be cemented as New Orleans' No. 1 wideout if Smith can't play in Week 17 against Carolina, we now have proof that all Saints' skill players will have a dangerously low floor if…read more

Posts 112 yards in win
Callaway caught six of nine targets for 112 receiving yards in Sunday's 9-0 win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Callaway was the lone skill position player for either team to eclipse the century mark in what turned out to be a defensive showdown. The 23-year-old finally broke free for a big 40-yard leaping reception in the second half after the Saints offense dinked and dunked for the majority of the contest. This was Callaway's first 100-plus yard receiving game this season, and he totaled just 47 yards in his previous two games with Taysom Hill under center, so fantasy managers shouldn't overreact to…read more

Another quiet game
Callaway caught two of four targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 30-9 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Callaway hasn't reached 40 receiving yards in a game since Week 5, and he's seen exactly four targets in each of the last five games. He'll be a touchdown-dependent, boom-or-bust option against the Buccaneers in Week 15, having found the end zone six times this season despite the modest target volume.

One catch against Dallas
Callaway caught one of four passes for 13 yards during Thursday's 27-17 loss to Dallas.
Analysis: Callaway continues to command a large snap share and subsequently run a lot of routes, but the Tennessee product has topped five targets in only three games this year. This lowly workload has made him a touchdown-dependent fantasy option, and things are unlikely to get better with the dual-threat Taysom Hill (finger) playing through a torn ligament in a finger on his throwing hand.

Touchdown streak ends
Callaway caught two of four targets for 24 yards during Thursday's 31-6 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Callaway was targeted on both short and deep passes, but he was unable to find the end zone for the first time since Trevor Siemian took over at quarterback. Making matters worse was that Callaway again was held below six targets, three receptions and 37 receiving yards with Siemian under center. Unless the Saints make some sort of change at quarterback, Callaway will be hard to trust as anything more than a touchdown-dependent fantasy asset.

Makes most of one catch
Callaway brought in one of four targets for a 26-yard touchdown in the Saints' 40-29 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Analysis: Callaway saved his fantasy day with his scoring grab, which came at the start of the fourth quarter and marked the Saints' first score since early in the second quarter. The second-year wideout hasn't topped 40 receiving yards since Week 5, but he's now recorded a touchdown reception in three consecutive contests. Callaway's next assignment is a tough one, considering New Orleans hosts the Bills for a Thanksgiving showdown in Week 12.

Reaches end zone again
Callaway recorded two receptions on four targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Titans.
Analysis: Callaway lost out on targets to both Tre'Quan Smith and Mark Ingram, though he salvaged his day with a 15-yard touchdown reception late in the fourth quarter to bring the Saints within two. His only other catch on the day came earlier on that same drive when he gained 22 yards deep down the sideline. Callaway has five catches for 62 yards in two games with Trevor Siemian as the starter to go along with two touchdowns. Scores fourth TD of season
Callaway caught three of six targets for 25 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 27-25 loss to Atlanta.
Analysis: Callaway had a seventh target that he dropped, but the play was nullified by a penalty. Even if it had counted, Callaway still wouldn't be averaging five targets per game on the year. While this modest volume was worth a roll of the dice when Jameis Winston (knee) was available, losing Winston for the season was a blow to Callaway's outlook, even if the indefinite absence of Michael Thomas (ankle) means Callaway won't have to share the top of the depth chart. Handles five targets
Callaway caught three of five targets for 30 yards during Sunday's 36-27 win over Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Now seven games into the year, Callaway has topped 50 receiving yards just twice. Things won't get any easier if Jameis Winston (knee) is forced to miss time, as New Orleans is likely to revert to a highly run-heavy gameplan if Taysom Hill (concussion) or Trevor Siemian needs to run the offense. Combined with the return of Tre'Quan Smith and the impending return of Michael Thomas (ankle), it wouldn't be surprising if Callaway's huge Week 5 performance against Washington goes down as an anomaly…read more

Cools down in Seattle
Callaway caught three of seven targets for 32 yards in Monday's 13-10 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: Callaway got open in the back of the end zone on New Orleans' first scoring drive, but a Seattle linebacker was able to knock the ball down on its way to Callaway, forcing the Saints to settle for a field goal. He led all Saints wide receivers in catches, targets and receiving yards, as running back Alvin Kamara (128 receiving yards and a touchdown) was the only New Orleans pass-catcher that was able to get going in this one. Finds end zone twice
Callaway caught four of eight targets for 85 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 33-22 win over Washington.
Analysis: The second-year receiver tied Alvin Kamara for the team lead in targets and finished one back in receptions, but Callaway led the Saints in receiving thanks largely to a 49-yard TD on a hail mary at the end of the first half. He then snagged a 12-yard strike from Jameis Winston early in the fourth quarter as New Orleans pulled away. Callaway will head into a Week 6 bye with 13 catches on 21 targets for 222 yards and three scores, but he could face additional competition for Winston's attention…read more

Nets 74 receiving yards
Callaway caught two of two targets for 74 yards during Sunday's 27-21 overtime loss to the Giants.
Analysis: Callaway was silent before popping for a 58-yard gain at the start of the third quarter. Meanwhile, Deonte Harris easily paced the team with eight targets while no other Saints player saw more than three. Though Callaway is technically the No. 1 perimeter option while Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring) are sidelined, his upside is clearly capped by a low-volume New Orleans passing game that saw Jameis Winston set a season high with 23 passing attempts Sunday. However, his low…read more

Leads team in receiving
Callaway had four receptions (five targets) for 41 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-13 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: Callaway turned in his best performance of the season as the Saints move to 2-1. He continues to serve as the club's top option at wide receiver, but that hadn't resulted in much fantasy production due to the conservative nature of New Orleans' offensive game plan. Callaway will look to build on this performance in a soft matchup against the Giants next Sunday.

Two catches in Sunday's loss
Callaway caught two of four targets for eight yards in Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: Jameis Winston only completed 11 passes all afternoon in a truly terrible performance, but Callaway still led all Saints' wideouts in catches and targets. The second-year player still appears to be atop the depth chart for New Orleans, but between a blowout win in Week 1 and a complete no-show by the Saints' offense in Week 2, he hasn't had much of a chance to turn that role into real volume. Callaway faces a potentially tough matchup next week as well, on the road against the Patriots.

Two targets in starting role
Callaway caught one of two passes for 14 yards during Sunday's 38-3 win over the Packers.
Analysis: After a summer full of hype, Callaway didn't seem to have a large role in the game plan despite the absences of both Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring). Instead, Jameis Winston spread the ball around to eight different receivers with Adam Trautman (six targets) and Alvin Kamara (four) getting the most attention. Primed for No. 1 role
Callaway enters Week 1 against Green Bay as the Saints' likely No. 1 receiver, while Michael Thomas (ankle) is out for at least five games and Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring) for at least three, Amie Just of The Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Thomas is on the PUP list, and Smith is on injured reserve. Callaway barely made the team as an undrafted rookie last season, but he now finds himself as the likely go-to receiver for Jameis Winston, who otherwise has Alvin Kamara and a couple of young, unproven tight ends. Sensational versus Jaguars
Callaway caught all five of his targets for 104 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 23-21 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Callaway was the star of the show, hauling in a 43-yard touchdown while being interfered with to cap New Orleans' opening drive. He then made an incredible, one-handed catch while outstretched for a 29-yard score two series later. In doing so, the second-year pro showed a great connection with quarterback Jameis Winston, which should bode well for Callaway as he approaches the regular season. Hot start in preseason opener
Callaway caught three of four targets for 61 yards in Saturday's 17-14 preseason loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Callaway has been the favorite practice target for both Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston, and his rapport with the former was evident on the opening drive, when Callaway caught all three of his targets for 61 yards. His only other target over the next two possessions resulted in an incomplete pass, though. Callaway is operating as the Saints' No. 1 receiver in training camp by default, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: With Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (undisclosed) sidelined while Deonte Harris faces a possible suspension for off-field conduct, Callaway seems to have a solid chance to open the regular season as the team's clear top receiver. Callaway has impressed through training camp thus far, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Callaway, who's already in the Saints' return mix, could see his role in the offense expand early on this season, with top wideout Michael Thomas (ankle) expected to miss time. In the short term, Callaway and Deonte Harris figure to have added opportunities, with Tre'Quan Smith currently dealing with an unspecified injury. Callaway's role is expected to increase in the absence of Michael Thomas (ankle), Adam Caplan of SiriusXM Radio reports.
Analysis: Tre'Quan Smith seems firmly established as the Saints' top receiver in the absence of Thomas, who is expected to be sidelined for at least the first month of the season. Meanwhile, Callaway and Deonte Harris appear like the clear favorites to fill the No. 2 and 3 jobs behind him. Solid rookie campaign
Callaway caught 21 passes for 213 yards in 11 regular-season games as a rookie in 2020.
Analysis: Callaway enjoyed modest production as a rookie out of Tennessee, going 21-213-0 as a receiver and filling in on kickoff and punt return duties while Deonte Harris was injured. Callaway will have plenty of competition for targets when he returns for his second season with a presumably healthy receiving corps.

Three receptions in Week 17 win
Callaway brought in three of four targets for 51 yards in the Saints' 33-7 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Callaway finished with his second-most yards of the season, though he was unable to find the end zone in Sunday's victory. He ends his rookie season with 21 receptions for 213 yards, though his final stat line was inflated due to the loss of Michael Thomas for much of the season. Callaway made most of his impact on special teams in his first NFL season, and that will likely be his role in 2021 when Thomas is set to return.

Multiple roles in return
Callaway (knee) brought in three of four targets for 26 yards and returned one punt for 16 yards in the Saints' 52-33 win over the Vikings on Friday.
Analysis: The undrafted rookie was solid in his return from a three-game absence, tying for second in the team in targets while serving as one of the Drew Brees' top three wideouts. Callaway put together a pair of solid efforts earlier in the season with Michael Thomas out of action; with the latter once again on injured reserve due to his nagging ankle issues and Tre'Quan Smith sharing the same designation, Callaway could see even more volume in the Week 17 regular-season finale versus the Panthers.

Callaway (knee) is active for Friday's game against Minnesota, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Callaway last played Week 12, but he hasn't seen more than 17 snaps or two targets in a game since Week 7. It's possible that changes Friday, as the Saints still have four wide receivers on injured reserve, including Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (ankle). The Saints activated Callaway (knee) from injured reserve Thursday, Larry Holder of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: After he was cleared to resume practicing Tuesday, Callaway apparently fared well enough in his workouts over the past three days for the Saints to sign off on his return to the 53-man roster. He'll be taking the spot of fellow wideout Tre'Quan Smith (ankle), who was placed on IR in a corresponding move. The Saints ruled Callaway (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Analysis: After coming out of last week's win over the Broncos with the knee injury, Callaway was unable to practice in any fashion Wednesday through Friday. Analysis: Callaway was becoming more involved in the Saints offense before an ankle injury sidelined him this past Sunday at Chicago. He picked up an ankle injury during last week's win over the Panthers, and he'll now be out for at least one game despite logging limited practices Thursday and Friday. Analysis: With both Michael Thomas (ankle) and Deonte Harris (hamstring) unavailable, Callaway had a season-best performance. Thomas should be back for Week 6 however, and Callaway's value will likely take a nosedive when that happens.

Makes the cut
Callaway is included in the Saints' final 53-man roster, Amie Just of Nola.com reports.
Analysis: The undrafted free agent out of Tennessee earned a roster spot as the team's fifth wideout thanks to a productive training camp. He's unlikely to take the field in his rookie season, with Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Tre'Quan Smith and Deonte Harris firmly ahead of him on the depth chart.
