Secures future contract
Swoopes signed a reserve/future contract with Washington on Monday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Swoopes spent the last few weeks of the 2020 season on Washington's practice squad, but he wasn't called up to the active roster. The 26-year-old tight end last played in 2019 with the Seahawks, and he has just seven NFL games on his resume through four years in the league.

Joins Washington's practice squad
Swoopes signed with Washington's practice squad Wednesday.
Analysis: Swoopes suited up in a combined seven regular-season games for Seattle between 2017 and 2019, but he only managed a total of two receptions for 28 yards on 109 offensive snaps. The 26-year-old is joined by Dylan Cantrell, as Washington decided to add a pair of former Big 12 pass catchers to its practice squad Wednesday.

Out of Philly
Swoopes was waived by the Eagles on Thursday.
Analysis: Swoopes signed with the team only a week ago but already finds himself on the outs as the Eagles made their first wave of cuts Thursday. The former Seahawk prides himself as being a run-blocking tight end and his veteran experience could help him secure a landing spot elsewhere before Week 1.

Heading to Philly
The Eagles signed Swoopes on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Swoopes spent the last three seasons playing a minimal run-blocking role in Seattle. He stands to compete for a similar reserve gig in Philadelphia, with Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert locked in as the uncontested top two options at tight end.

Run-blocking role in 2019
Swoopes finished the 2019 season with one catch on one target for five yards over six games.
Analysis: Swoopes was brought up from the practice squad after Will Dissly went down with a season-ending Achilles injury and Luke Willson sustained a serious hamstring injury. Jacob Hollister, who will be a restricted free agent in March, served as the No. 1 tight end and will likely stick around in 2020 while Dissly gets healthy. Swoopes will be an exclusive-rights free agent, and he's not a lock to make the 53-man roster.

Joins Seattle's 53-man roster
Swoopes was promoted to the Seahawks' 53-man roster Friday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Swoopes signed to the team's practice squad in mid-October and now makes his way to the active roster. The 25-year-old appeared in one game with Seattle in each of the last two seasons, catching his lone target for 23 yards. Swoopes could serve as the No. 2 tight end Sunday in Philadelphia if Luke Willson (hamstring) is unable to play.
