Should be ready for Super Bowl
Bell (knee) is expected to be available to play in Super Bowl LV, ESPN's Dianna Russini reports.
Analysis: Assuming Bell is available a week from Sunday, it remains to be seen what his role might be versus the Buccaneers. Though Clyde Edwards-Helaire was able to play in the AFC Championship Game, it was Darrel Williams who served as Kansas City's lead back in the team's 38-24 win over the Bills. Bell therefore seems likely to work in a complementary role if he suits up against Tampa Bay.

Inactive versus Bills
Bell (knee) is inactive for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Bills, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: While Bell is unavailable, fellow running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle/hip) is listed as active for the first time since Week 15. That said, it remains to be seen how much Edwards-Helaire will be used versus the Bills, with Darrel Williams, who led Kansas City's backfield in last weekend's divisional-round win over the Browns, also on hand Sunday.

Looks unlikely for Sunday's game
Bell (knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Bills, is considered unlikely to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Meanwhile, rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle/hip) -- who is also listed as questionable -- looks poised to be available, though the extent of his role will likely be determined based on how he feels in pregame warmups and early in Sunday's contest. The expected return of Edwards-Helaire should alleviate the likely absence of Bell, who had already appeared to fall to third on the depth chart with Darrel Williams dominating the work out of the backfield in last week's…read more

Designated as questionable
Bell (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Buffalo.
Analysis: Bell was added to the injury report Thursday and closed out the week missing back-to-back practices. Meanwhile, fellow RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) was a limited participant throughout the week and is hoping to suit up for the first time since Week 15. Bell got just two carries and 11 snaps in the wild-card round, so he'll likely be stuck behind Darrel Williams even if CEH doesn't play and Bell does.

Bothered by swollen knee
Bell was held out of Thursday's practice after he experienced some swelling in his knee, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: Bell was listed on the injury report with a knee issue last week, but he was a full practice participant Wednesday through Friday and ended up active for the 22-17 win over Cleveland. He finished the game with only two carries and 11 snaps, so his presence (or lack thereof) shouldn't have much impact on the Chiefs' gameplan for the AFC Championship Game. Bell might even be a healthy-ish scratch if Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) is cleared to play.

Takes back seat to Williams
Bell rushed twice for six yards and failed to catch either of his targets in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Browns in the AFC divisional round.
Analysis: Bell was a non-factor while Darrel Williams gained 94 yards on 17 touches in Clyde Edwards-Helaire's (knee) absence. Even if Edwards-Helaire is unable to return for next week's AFC Championship Game against the Bills, Bell's unlikely to make much of an impact given his lack of usage in this one.

Set to lead backfield
Bell is expected to lead the Chiefs backfield Sunday against the Browns with Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) inactive, Matt McCullen of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Edwards-Helaire was absent in three different games this season -- Weeks 13, 16 and 17 -- giving Bell a chance to be the main running back. While Bell didn't get any run in the regular-season finale, he earned 21 touches in the other two contests en route to 94 yards from scrimmage and no touchdowns. There's a chance he yields touches to Darrel Williams and perhaps even Darwin Thompson, but Bell is the most noteworthy option at RB for the Chiefs.

Ready for divisional round
Bell does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's AFC divisional-round matchup against the Browns.
Analysis: Bell was listed on Kansas City's injury report all week due to a knee issue, but he logged a trio of unrestricted practice sessions. Meanwhile, top running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle/hip) has missed back-to-back practices and is officially listed as questionable. If Edwards-Helaire is unable to go versus the Browns, Bell and Darrel Williams will stand to handle the top roles in Kansas City's backfield.

No action in regular-season finale
Bell (coach's decision) didn't see the field in Sunday's 38-21 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: While Bell didn't take any snaps, he was in uniform for the contest and available if needed. Instead, the Chiefs leaned on Darwin Thompson to handle most of the backfield reps, with Darrel Williams also factoring in for a few snaps. The Chiefs were likely just preserving the health of Bell and Williams for the postseason with little on the line in Week 17, but both players could be headed for smaller roles regardless when Kansas City returns from a first-round playoff bye to play Jan. 16 or 17.…read more

In uniform Sunday
Bell (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: That said, with Kansas City having clinched a first-round playoff bye, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that Bell seems unlikely to see much action Sunday, as the team can afford to rest a number of key players and those with nagging injuries. With Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) inactive, Rapoport believes that Darwin Thompson is in line to see the bulk of the team's carries in Week 17, with Darrel Williams also on hand.

Expected to be available Sunday
Bell (knee) is expected to suit up Sunday against the Chargers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: However, with Kansas City having clinched the AFC's No. 1 playoff seed, Rapoport adds that if Bell does play in Sunday's 4:25 ET game, "it'll be very little." With Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) already ruled out, the report suggests that Darwin Thompson is slated to get the bulk of Kansas City's carries in Week 17.

Deemed questionable for Week 17
The Chiefs list Bell (knee) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Analysis: Withheld from the Chiefs' first two Week 17 practices due to his right knee injury, Bell returned to the field in limited capacity Friday to keep himself in consideration to play in the regular-season finale. Since the Chiefs have already locked up the AFC's No. 1 seed, head coach Andy Reid has already said that several key players will be rested this weekend. Misses another practice
Bell (knee) didn't practice Thursday, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) also didn't practice, and it's possible that neither back suits up Sunday against the Chargers, with Kansas City having clinched the AFC's No. 1 seed and a first-round playoff bye. Next up for carries if that happens would be Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson, with Elijah McGuire a candidate to be elevated from the team's practice squad.

Tending to knee issue
Bell didn't practice Wednesday due to an inflamed right knee, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: While Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle/hip) was sidelined for the Week 16 win over the Falcons, Bell split backfield work fairly evenly with Darrel Williams. Bell looks to have picked up the knee issue along the way, and while it doesn't appear to be a major concern, the Chiefs aren't incentivized to have the veteran play through the issue Week 17 against the Chargers. No bell-cow role sans CEH
Bell registered 30 yards on seven carries and caught one of three targets for nine yards during Sunday's 17-14 win over Atlanta.
Analysis: Darrel Williams' 10 carries represented a team high, as the Chiefs deployed a pass-heavy script consisting of 45 attempts. Bell, the two-time All-Pro, seemed poised to assume the lead role with Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle/hip) ruled out, but Week 16 yielded yet another pedestrian output. Ready for bigger workload
Bell is poised for a larger workload Sunday against the Falcons with Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle/hip) officially out, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: After Edwards-Helaire sustained a high left ankle sprain and strained left hip this past Sunday versus the Saints, he wasn't expected to be able to play again until at least the postseason. Still, coach Andy Reid didn't rule Edwards-Helaire out until Friday. With the decision now set in stone, Bell will be Kansas City's primary running back Week 16, with Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson on hand for any reps that linger. Headed for increased role
Bell is expected to see more work over the final two weeks of the regular season following the news that Clyde-Edwards Helaire has suffered a high-ankle sprain that could sideline the rookie until the playoffs, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bell was on track for his biggest output since joining the Chiefs in Sunday's win over the Saints even before Edwards-Helaire exited with the injury. The veteran finished with 15 carries for 62 yards and a score to go with a 14-yard reception. He still only logged 32 percent of the snaps against the Saints, but Bell's playing time should skyrocket over the final two weeks of the regular season if Edwards-Helaire is in fact out. Scores TD in win over Saints
Bell carried the ball 15 times for 62 yards and a touchdown and caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's 32-29 win over the Saints.
Analysis: His 12-yard scamper early in the fourth quarter gave Bell his second TD of the season. The veteran back could take over the lead role in Week 16 after Clyde Edwards-Helaire suffered a hip/leg injury in this one, setting Bell up for a potentially productive game against a Falcons defense that just surrendered two rushing touchdowns to Leonard Fournette.

Returns to backup role
Bell rushed twice for 21 yards and reeled in two of his three targets for another 14 yards Sunday versus the Dolphins.
Analysis: After handling the starting duties last week with Clyde Edwards-Helaire feeling under the weather, Bell resumed his backup duties in Week 14, appearing on a season-low 18 percent of the Chiefs' offensive snaps. The veteran back made the most of his time on the field, producing 35 yards on just four touches and 11 snaps, but he's unlikely to hold a ton of fantasy value when Edwards-Helaire is part of the equation.

Thrust into starting role
Bell led Kansas City's backfield with 11 carries for 40 yards and two receptions (three targets) for 15 yards in Sunday's 22-16 win over Denver.
Analysis: Usual starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire came down with a stomach bug late in the week, though he was listed as active prior to kickoff Sunday. That move appeared to be a strategic one, as the rookie standout did not receive a touch all evening, opening the door for Bell to take over as the starter for the first time with his new club. Minimal production again
Bell logged five carries for 22 yards and reeled in both of his targets for 10 yards in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Despite Bell seeing more usage (30 percent of offensive snaps) Sunday than he did last week, he actually wound up with one fewer touch and didn't reach paydirt. The veteran back continues to serve as the No. 2 option behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire but remains primarily a handcuff at this point.

Scores first TD in 2020
Bell ran the ball seven times for 25 yards and a touchdown and caught his lone target for 11 yards in Sunday's 35-31 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: It took a midseason trade and six games, but Bell finally hit pay dirt for the first time in 2020. Sunday's contest gave us the clearest view of a competitive game script from start to finish since the former All-Pro joined Kansas City's backfield in Week 7, but it still resulted in single-digit touches while starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire nearly doubled that workload (14 carries for 69 yards and two touchdowns and one reception for eight yards). Limited workload in win
Bell rushed four times for eight yards and brought in his only target for minus-5 yards in the Chiefs' 33-31 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Bell endured a disappointing day for the third time in as many games as a Chief, with his four carries serving as a season low. The former Pro Bowler's lack of usage is concerning, but a game script that turned away from the run after Kansas City surprisingly fell behind by a 14-3 score in the first half was partly to blame. Quiet against former team
Bell rushed six times for seven yards and caught all three of his targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 35-9 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Bell and Clyde Edwards-Helaire each got nine touches, and Bell actually came out ahead 38-31 in scrimmage yards. The veteran's ineptitude on the ground was highlighted by a stuffed 4th-and-1 attempt in the third quarter, as Bell's former team kept the recent departee from making much of an impact. Two long dashes in KC debut
Bell registered 39 rushing yards on six carries during Sunday's 43-16 win against the Broncos.
Analysis: Bell was horribly inefficient during his time with the Jets, ranking 48th among 49 qualified NFL backs with a 3.3 yards-per-carry average. The move to Andy Reid's offense has the potential to revitalize Bell's career, but the 2017 All-Pro will likely have to defer No. 1 duties to Clyde Edwards-Helaire so long as the rookie is healthy. Making KC debut
Bell is listed as active Sunday at Denver, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: As Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported earlier Sunday, Bell is making his debut with the Chiefs after the Jets released him nearly two weeks ago. However, Bell's workload is to be determined in a backfield led by Clyde Edwards-Helaire and with complementary option Darrel Williams also present. The move from New York's listless offense to Kansas City's dynamic unit should be a boon for Bell, even if his reps are capped on a weekly basis.

Will debut Sunday
Bell is slated to be available Sunday against the Broncos and is expected to have a role in the Chiefs' game plan, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: How extensively Bell might be involved in his Chiefs debut remains unknown, but Rapoport relays that the 28-year-old has worked hard to learn the playbook since signing with the team last week and looked "really fast" in his initial practices. Week 7 status TBD
Coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that the Chiefs plan to take a day-by-day approach with Bell before deciding whether he'll be ready to make his team debut Sunday in Denver, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: For now, Reid is non-committal about the newcomer playing Week 7, but Sweeney gets "the sense there could be some type of role in store." With that in mind, those who roster Bell shouldn't count on a big fantasy payoff this week, but once the veteran back is up to speed with his new team's offense, he should provide a nice complement to rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Miami and Kansas City in the mix
Bell has reportedly narrowed his free-agent destinations down to Kansas City and Miami, according to Nate Taylor and Josh Tolentino of The Athletic.
Analysis: The Chiefs are an obvious Super Bowl contender, but with 2020 first-rounder Clyde Edwards-Helaire on hand, they don't offer Bell a path to every-down work. Meanwhile, Bell trains in South Florida during the offseason and the Dolphins' backfield is currently headed by Myles Gaskin, who wasn't on the fantasy re-draft radar prior to training camp this summer. Analysis: Those three teams happen to be the Jets' next three opponents, though if Bell does sign a contract as soon as Thursday, it doesn't seem likely that he'd immediately step into a key role Week 6. In any case, if Bell has been made available in your league following his recent release, the 28-year-old is worth acquiring in the hope that a change of scenery can help jump-start his 2020 season.

Quiet in return to lineup
Bell carried the ball 13 times for 60 yards and caught his only target for seven yards in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Cardinals.
Analysis: After missing three games with a hamstring strain, Bell returned to action and averaged a solid 4.6 yards a carry, although his workload was limited in another blowout loss for the Jets. He'll remain the team's top backfield option in Week 6 against the Chargers, but whether Joe Flacco or Sam Darnold (shoulder) is under center, Bell's chances of making a big impact in a sluggish offense will be low.

As expected, Bell (hamstring) has been activated off injured reserve by the Jets ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Bell pulled his left hamstring in Week 1 and has been sidelined since. He will now look to spark the Jets' struggling offense by re-taking his position as the team's top back. Analysis: Assuming no setbacks, Bell is trending toward being activated off IR in advance of Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Analysis: Per Vacchiano, the Jets are tentatively planning to activate Bell from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals, assuming his hamstring holds up during practice this week. If that's the case, Bell would presumably reclaim his position as the Jets' top back, with Frank Gore moving into a complementary/short-yardage role and La'Mical Perine also in the mix. Analysis: If Bell's prediction comes to pass, he'll end up spending the minimum amount of time on IR after he was shut down following Week 1 with the hamstring injury. Though he reportedly cut down weight during the offseason, Bell drew poor reviews from beat reporters for his play during training camp, and he managed only 14 yards on six carries in the Jets' season-opening loss to the Bills prior to his departure. Coach Adam Gase said Monday that Bell (hamstring) could "be looking at a couple weeks," Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
Analysis: Gase declined to put a specific timetable on Bell's return, and Rich Cimini of ESPN.com notes he also said the veteran's conditioning could allow him to recover ahead of schedule. Still, the 28-year-old appears to be trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's contest against the 49ers. Coach Adam Gase said after Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills that he regrets leaving Bell (hamstring) in the game after the running back was injured late in the first half, ESPN.com's Rich Cimini reports.
Analysis: Bell hurt his hamstring on an awkward tumble while running a route on which he drew a holding penalty against the defense just before halftime. The running back emerged from the locker room with a wrap on his leg and played five snaps in the third quarter before being taken out of the game when it became apparent that he lacked burst. Gase will likely play things extra safe with Bell's injury moving forward, which means there's a good chance the well-paid running back is kept out of the team's…read more

Suffers hamstring injury in Week 1
Bell was forced out of Sunday's game against the Bills with a hamstring injury.
Analysis: With rookie La'Mical Perine (ankle) already inactive for the contest, veteran back Frank Gore is next up for the Jets' carries for any length of time Bell might miss. Prior to his exit from Sunday's game, Bell carried six times for 14 yards and caught both of his targets for 32 yards.

Working in 60/40 split with Gore
Bell has seen approximately 60 percent of the first-team reps in training camp, with Frank Gore handling around 40 percent, according to ESPN.com's Rich Cimini.
Analysis: Bell took 14 snaps to Gore's nine during Saturday's practice, equating to 60.9 percent of the first-team reps. Cimini says that's been the norm throughout training camp, with the exception of Wednesday's practice when coach Adam Gase removed Bell early and cited hamstring tightness as the reason. Bell then disputed reports of any injury and mentioned frustration with a lack of practice reps. It is possible he gets more than 60 percent of the workload once the season begins, though Brian…read more

Says he isn't injured
Bell disputes reports that he was pulled from Wednesday's practice because of a hamstring injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: Speaking to the media after Wednesday's practice, coach Adam Gase suggested that hamstring tightness was the reason for Bell being taken off the field. About 20 minutes later, Bell posted on his personal Twitter account that he wasn't dealing with a hamstring injury, and he also noted that he needs the practice reps to prepare for games. This sounds like nothing more than a minor internal disagreement over practice usage, but Bell's activity over the next few days may be worth monitoring in any…read more

Bothered by hamstring
Bell was removed from practice Wednesday due to tightness in his hamstring, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Per Hughes, coach Adam Gase seemed to downplay the injury, but he didn't really get into details. Bell's absence opened up some first-team reps for fourth-round rookie La'Mical Perine, who proceeded to break free for a 36-yard gain on his first carry, according to Hughes. If Bell were to miss games this season, the Jets likely would rely on Perine and Frank Gore to split the workload in the backfield. There's already been plenty of speculation that Bell won't match last year's 82.4 percent snap…read more

Trims down
Bell noted Wednesday that his current weight is in the 210-to-215 pound range, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. "I'm ready to show this is the best Le'Veon Bell that's ever played in the NFL," he said.
Analysis: According to Bell, that's the lightest he's been since high school. Though veteran Frank Gore and rookie La'Mical Perine are also on hand to work in complementary roles, a healthy and fit Bell has the three-down skill set to seize control of the lead job in the Jets' backfield. That context could yield good return on investment on Bell in fantasy drafts.

Looks set for lighter load
Coach Adam Gase said Monday that the Jets plan to take a "less is more" approach to Bell's usage in 2020, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: "Hopefully, we can get some of the younger backs to where we can make a good one-two punch," Gase said, "to where we can really excel instead of feeling like it's just all on him all the time." Bell accounted for 311 combined carries and catches as the Jets' workhorse last season, but his efficiency (3.2 YPC) didn't nearly match his levels from 2014-17 with the Steelers. The 28-year-old's three-down skill set and fully guaranteed $13.5 million salary for 2020 no doubt locks him in as New York's…read more

General manager Joe Douglas said Bell hasn't been a topic of trade discussion, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
Analysis: This doesn't mean the Jets won't listen to offers, but it does stand to reason that they'd have a hard time trading a running back with a fully guaranteed $13 million salary for 2020. Adam Gase may never have wanted to sign Bell in the first place, but the coach did reiterate Tuesday that he's been pleased with the running back's preparation, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Facing uncertain future with Jets
Coach Adam Gase declined to comment on whether he wants Bell back with the team for 2020, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. "[Bell]'s under contract for three years. You can ask Joe (Douglas)," Gase said. "You can ask Joe tomorrow...I'm not in charge of personnel."
Analysis: Bell signed a four-year, $52.5 million contract with the Jets in March, two months before the team fired former general manager Mike Maccagnan. There have been reports ever since about Gase being annoyed by the contract, though he's repeatedly praised Bell for his professionalism and effort. The 27-year-old finished 2019 with career-worst marks for yards per carry (3.2), rushing yards per game (52.6) and total yards per game (83.3), rarely finding room to run behind a putrid offensive line.…read more

Not much burst after move to NY
Bell rushed 16 times for 41 yards and caught all five of his targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 13-6 win over Buffalo.
Analysis: Bell finishes his first season in New York with 789 rushing yards on 245 carries for a career-low average of 3.2 yards per carry. He was involved as a receiver with 66 catches for 461 yards, but Bell didn't demonstrate much explosiveness -- his longest play from scrimmage went only 23 yards and he scored just four total touchdowns. Workhorse in revenge game
Bell rushed 25 times for 72 yards and caught all four of his targets for another 21 yards in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Bell got all the touches he could handle in a defensive-minded affair against his former team, as his 25 carries were the most he's received as a member of the Jets. He's averaged an underwhelming 3.3 yards per carry in 2019, but his volume should give him a decent floor as the Jets look to keep playing spoiler when they travel to Buffalo in Week 17. Bell has 748 yards on the ground and 425 more as a receiver but just four total touchdowns with one game left in the season.

Solid performance in loss
Bell (illness) rushed 21 times for 87 yards and brought in both his targets for one yard in the Jets' 42-21 loss to the Ravens on Thursday.
Analysis: Bell enjoyed a solid return from a one-game absence due to illness against a typically stingy Ravens defense, notching a season high in rushing yards while tying his high-water mark in carries in 2019. The versatile back has endured a significantly underwhelming season overall and still doesn't have a run of longer than 19 yards, but he'll look to continue putting a strong cap on the campaign in a Week 16 matchup versus the Steelers a week from Sunday.

Good to go for Week 15
Bell (illness) doesn't carry an injury designation into Thursday's game against the Ravens, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The Jets listed Bell as a full practice participant Monday through Wednesday, which confirms that he's moved past the illness that kept him out of action in the Week 14 win over the Dolphins. He'll be needed plenty Thursday, as top backup Bilal Powell (ankle/illness) has already been ruled out and No. 3 option Ty Montgomery (foot/hip) is listed as questionable.

Bell (illness) was listed as a full participant on Monday's practice estimate.
Analysis: Bell was ruled out in advance of the Jets' Week 14 matchup with the Dolphins due to an illness, which kept him away from team facilities last Thursday and Friday. After a period of rest, he's back with the Jets on Monday and would have been well enough to take part in every drill, if they held practice. Analysis: Bell missed Sunday's win over the Dolphins with the flu, but he's been cleared to return to the Jets' facility Monday and thus is on track to return to action Week 15. Meanwhile, Mehta adds that if the team had practiced Monday, Bilal Powell (ankle, illness) -- who filled in for Bell in Week 14 -- would not have participated.

Analysis: After Bell was unable to practice Thursday or Friday, it became apparent he was in serious jeopardy of missing Sunday's game. The Jets took the drama out of the decision early, ruling Bell out for Week 14 after re-evaluating him Saturday. Plodding ways continue
Bell rushed 10 times for 32 yards and caught four of five targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 22-6 loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: Bell had a 23-yard run called back on a holding call, and he didn't manage more than seven yards on any of his official rushing attempts. The 27-year-old running back has lacked explosiveness, failing to produce a run of 20-plus yards all season. Salvages performance with score
Bell carried the ball 18 times for 59 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 11 win against the Redskins. He also added two receptions for 33 yards.
Analysis: Bell was held under wraps, as his longest gain on the ground went for just nine yards. However, his one-yard touchdown plunge early in the fourth quarter salvaged his day. While he was targeted only twice in the passing game, he converted both into catches and capped the performance with a 21-yard gain through the air. Active for Sunday's game
Bell (ribs/knee/illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against Washington.
Analysis: Nine games into the 2019 season, Bell continues to dominate the Jets' backfield touches, but his 143 carries have yielded a modest average of 3.1 yards to go along with two rushing TDs. His fantasy utility has, however, been salvaged by his presence in New York's passing game, as the 27-year-old has hauled in 44 of his 55 targets for 276 yards and a TD. Called 'fine' by Gase
Bell was deemed to be "fine" by coach Adam Gase after the running back emerged from Sunday's 34-27 win against the Giants with sore ribs, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: Bell dealt with knee and ankle injuries in practice last week and appears as if he'll have limitations this week as well. The combination of health concerns didn't help his efficiency on the ground Sunday, as he managed 34 yards on 18 carries. However, he helped his cause by scoring a TD and hauling in all four of his targets for 34 yards. There's no indication that Bell's upcoming availability is in peril, but Wednesday's practice report will give a sense of his current standing.

Assuming no in-game setbacks, Bell will continue to be a focal part of his team's offense Sunday, with his pass-catching ability (he hauled in eight passes for 55 yards in Week 9's loss to Miami) -- on top of his role as the team's undisputed lead rusher -- adding value to his fantasy profile.

Analysis: Workload certainly wasn't a problem for Bell after his light usage in Week 8, as coach Adam Gase leaned on the running back perhaps to a fault, calling a few third-down running plays that failed when a pass might have done the trick.
