Heads to Arizona
The Cardinals signed Amukamara to the practice squad Tuesday.
Analysis: Amukamara failed to make the final roster in Las Vegas during training camp after starting for the Bears over the last three seasons and racking up 29 pass breakups and three interceptions. He's finally found a new team after visiting with the Cardinals last week. The Cardinals' secondary has actually been decent, allowing 222.4 passing yards per game -- the fifth-best rate in the league. Nevertheless, Amukamara should have a chance to climb the depth chart in Arizona.

Nearing deal
Amukamara is expected to visit and sign with the Cardinals in coming days, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Analysis: Amukamara was cut loose by the Raiders before the season began after failing to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster. The 31-year-old was productive in his time with the Bears over the past three seasons, logging 167 tackles (146 solo), three interceptions and three forced fumbles in 44 games. With Dre Kirkpatrick (calf) missing practice time, Amukamara could step into the lineup once he's in the fold.

Cut loose by Raiders
Amukamara was released by the Raiders on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The 31-year-old cornerback has 99 NFL starts to his name, including 42 for Chicago the past three seasons. He's never been the best at producing turnovers, but his work in coverage has typically been solid. The Raiders apparently weren't impressed with what they saw in training camp, cutting Amukamara loose less than four months after they signed him to a one-year contract. Trayvon Mullen and rookie first-round pick Damon Arnette look like the favorites to start at cornerback in Las Vegas.

Joining Las Vegas
Amukamara and the Raiders agreed to terms on a contract Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Amukamara started 42 of his 44 games for Chicago the past three seasons, peaking in 2018 with 66 tackles, 12 pass breakups and three interceptions. His stats dropped off last year, but Amukamara remained solid from a coverage standpoint, allowing 7.8 yards per pass attempt while earning Pro Football Focus' No. 43 grade among 112 qualified cornerbacks. He'll turn 31 in June, making him the elder statesman of a cornerback group that includes 2019 second-round pick Trayvon Mullen, 2020 first-round…read more

Cut by Chicago
The Bears released Amukamara on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Amukamara started 42 games the past three years in Chicago, averaging 55.7 tackles, 9.7 pass defenses and one interception per season. He arguably took a step back in 2019, but he still finished 41st among 113 qualified cornerbacks in PFF's grading. Amukamara will turn 31 in June and should be able to find another starting job.

Posts no stats in season finale
Amukamara was active but failed to record a tackle in the Bears' 21-19 win over the Vikings in Week 17, and he ended the season with 53 tackles over 14 games.
Analysis: Amukamara has typically averaged about four tackles per game over most of his nine-year career, but he's failed to pick off a pass in three of his last four seasons. He'll enter the last year of his deal with the Bears in 2020, and he'll likely continue to be a low-upside IDP option.

Suiting up Sunday
Amukamara (hamstring) is active for Sunday's divisional contest against the Vikings.
Analysis: Amukamara initially was listed as questionable for Sunday's regular-season finale, but he's managed to shed his hamstring injury in time to take the field. The veteran cornerback is set to draw his usual start across from Kyle Fuller in Week 17.

Officially questionable
Amukamara (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's divisional contest against the Vikings.
Analysis: Amukamara has logged back-to-back limited practice sessions. If the starting cornerback were forced to miss Sunday's season finale, Kevin Toliver and Buster Skrine would be candidates to handle expanded roles on defense.

Limited in practice
Amukamara (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Amukamara practiced in full Wednesday, so Thursday's limited session represents a step in the wrong direction. Still, there's not yet any reason to consider him in danger of missing Sunday's divisional tilt against the Vikings. If he's able to practice without restrictions Friday, it'll put any concerns about the starting cornerback's availability to rest.

Ready for SNF
Amukamara (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Analysis: Amukamara's performance in coverage has taken a hit this year, as he's allowed 9.4 yards per target compared to 6.8 last season. The Bears will need him to up his game on the big stage, as the Chiefs enter with the third-ranked passing offense (291.4 yards per game).

Questionable Week 16
Amukamara (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Analysis: Amukamara appeared recovered from the hamstring injury after practicing as a full participant Wednesday, but he was downgraded to limited participation the last two days. The 30-year-old's status for Sunday's contest remains up in the air.

Full speed ahead
Amukamara (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: After missing Week 14's win over the Cowboys with a hamstring issue, Amukamara is all systems go moving forward. The 30-year-old cornerback has allowed 9.4 yards per target and two total touchdowns this season, but he'll look to tighten up his coverage and help keep the Bears' playoff hopes alive with a win over the Packers on Sunday.

Won't face Cowboys
Amukamara (hamstring) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Cowboys.
Analysis: Amukamara was initially listed as doubtful for Thursday's contest, so his lack of availability doesn't come as much of a surprise. In the veteran cornerback's stead, Buster Skrine stands to move to the outside while Duke Shelley and Kevin Toliver handle slot duties as a rotation.

Unlikely to play Thursday
Amukamara is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game versus Dallas due to a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Amukamara's absence from Wednesday's walkthrough suggests he will miss Thursday's contest, but his doubtful label means there exists a small chance that he'll suit up. Assuming Amukamara won't play, expect Buster Skrine to move outside to take his place, while the combination of Duke Shelley and Kevin Toliver handles slot duties.

Sits out practice
Amukamara has a hamstring injury and didn't practice Monday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Amukamara missed only one defensive snap during last Thursday's win over the Lions, but he apparently picked up the hamstring injury at some point. The 30-year-old has missed only a handful of snaps all season for the Bears, and they can ill afford to be without him when going up against a talent-laden Cowboys offense Thursday.

Productive day
Amukamara recorded five tackles in Chicago's 20-13 victory over the Lions on Sunday.
Analysis: This was the third time all season that Amukamara posted at least five tackles, and he's averaging four stops on the season. However, he's yet to record an interception, making him a low-upside fantasy option.
